Revisiting an academic design

Originally developed as a champagne and dessert bar concept for a graduate interior design studio in the summer of 2009, the "Lazuri Lounge" has long remained an unfinished project in my archives. I've decided that, considering my relative lack of social engagements due to the ongoing pandemic, now would be a good opportunity to revisit this design and apply some of the lessons I've learned from designing cafes for the Smithsonian. Although entirely hypothetical, my intention is to treat this exercise like a renovation of the first concept, working within the existing footprint and maintaining the "current" structural elements (e.g., elevator shaft, column locations, exterior glazing, level changes, and so forth). Look for the new and improved Lazuri Lounge to make an appearance in my portfolio this summer.
